The color purple

nickel blue, strontium matte glaze

This is a nice Strontium-matte glaze coloured with Nickel. I was curious to this glaze because it is matt while the Si:Al ratio is 7.98 on UMF (Glazy).

So I researched this glaze and discovered nice purple colours.

Recipe:

Neph Sy     36

Kwarts       25

Strontium   18

Ball clay      12

Zink ox        9

Ni carb        2.2

Firing: oxidation

1260°C (PTCR-ring: 1280°C)

Natural cooling
