ABOUT ME - Jeannine Vrins
My name is Jeannine and I'm happy to show you my ceramics: designed and handmade in my little studio which is named 'Atelier Oker'.
I live and work in Lier, Belgium (Europe), with my 3 adorable men (3, 6 and 39 years old).
Although I'm educated as an industrial designer I prefer to make all my designs by hand. I love to make every product unique.
I love to touch the clay and throw it into a form, which can touch you.
All the designs in my shop are made of (German) Westerwald Stoneware clay, finished from the outside with a Terra Sigillata (old Greek way of sealing the skin of a pot) and the inside is glazed with a very strong, white, glossy glaze (homemade without toxic products).
All my designs are made to touch and being touched. So they are intended to be used in daily life and not for sitting somewhere in a cabin. For example the mugs, cups, spoons and plates are all dish washer proof. And they are less fragile than they look (of course it’s still ceramics). If you are searching for a gift for someone special (or for yourself) that is more personal than what they sell in regular stores, maybe you will find something here.
